I'll start off by saying if this film wasn't currently sitting pretty in the top ten films of all time, I would have given this somewhere between six and eight out of ten. It's a good film. Decent superhero flick with some cool action sequences. About what you'd expect.
However, how this film is in the best ten films of ALL TIME is absolutely beyond me. This film is saved by the action sequences and effects alone. There is nothing whatsoever in the average acting, or quite frankly boring directing, that saves this film from being any more than the likes of iron-man or spider-man.
To quote Jonathan Ross. This film would have got nowhere near the hype that it has done, if Heath Ledger was still alive. Just my personal opinion, but that's the only reason this film has done so well. Oscar-nominated, don't make me laugh.

Hopefully, I didn't just jinx that, but The Dark Knight punches its way past Batman Begins without a sweat.
The Dark Knight is so much darker than the previous Batman films. Heath Ledger portrays the Joker's evil side extremely well as well as the Joker's dark sense of humor. Ledger gives the Joker a whole new life with a performance that seems to be unbeatable by any past and upcoming comic-based films. The Joker is finally how he's supposed to be. Ledger cleans the mess left from Jack Nicolson's Joker in Tim Burton's Batman.
The other cast members also do a wonderful job in their acting. Christian Bale is, by far, the best Bruce Wayne/Batman. And the other actors/actresses play their parts just as good.
The special effects were pretty sweet. The film makers gave Batman some cool new toys. And the hand-to-hand fight sequences were much better than in Batman Begins. You could actually see what was going on. Even though the fight scenes didn't seem as fast, it seemed more realistic which gave the feeling that a man (or woman) could actually do these things, which made Batman even that more kick-tail.
This movie had some really good morals…like about sacrificing for the innocent and friends. This film was very clean. No sexual content. And hardly any foul language (1 sob, 2 A words, and 2 H words. I really enjoyed this film. It's definitely this summer's best film by far and it totally deserves the high ratings. Support this film!
